From then on..

From my last agony, I am feeling better now.
Last night I wrote to the teacher asking what is his plan for this year, because there has been no homework at all since the school started.
I also wrote to him the old fox (Leigh's last year's evil teacher) did not teach Leigh any maths or Japanese because she believes Leigh is incapable of learning so I taught her at home after school.
I also added whatever his reason is for being how he is, I need to understand the reason behind or else I can't help out. And for any special need student our cooperation is key for her to enjoy her time at school.
(Folks, she is eight and she does division and multiplying with ease and she is not verbally fluent but she can do Japanese study just like any normal child a long as it only involves reading and writing ... she may not be Harvard candidate but she does all this with me! incapable of learning! hah!)

Anyways, he apologized today saying he did not know that's how the old fox treated Leigh last year (but he was there!).
And he said he is sorry he wasn't very clear about everything.
I told him we should come up with a detailed plan on what work has to be done at home and what else at school so that she is able to finish her 1 year curriculum within the year...
(Isn't this his job..?)

Anyways, now that he apologized, I hope it will be more peaceful here on.
Sorry if I made anyone worry too much.

Bravo, kudos on writing the teacher. A lot of times doing something, anything about a situation lets you take back the control. One of the most delibilating things about being depressed is feeling overwhelmed and life begins to spiral out of control.
As a bipolar I have to deal with a lot of unfair labelling and bullying. People see you as something ‘less’ than normal and they put you down, belittle and demean you. I think one of the biggest fight for you would be defending Leigh’s integrity. The teacher seemingly want to dismiss Leigh as not worthy of his attention. Don’t let him bully you and Leigh into accepting Leigh is not worth any learning, empathy. It’s not for him to judge. He only has to make a learning plan, review the progress with you and shut up about everything else. He is paid to teach. Kindly remind him that. These bigots are so infuriating, sadly they are the majority. You are in for a lifelong fight my friend. Don't give in for Leigh.

Happy to read that the teacher apologized! He doesn't sound like a great teacher, but hopefully it will be better from now on. Let's hope so.
Hugs from Norway :)
