it's been a month

I have been almost registering all the memorables here so far and now that I didn't want to write anymore I have no more place to post.
Yet I have been taking photos.
So here are a few baking I did for my little one.

Though I kept the photos on facebook, it's not the same.
Just like Diaries are not the same as memos.

So the doc says my child cannot have a bunch of things.
No wheat, no other grains except rice (basically gluten free).
No meat, no spice and I know for a fact dairy does her no good so that too is our of her diet. Oh and all food and drink has to be warm, between 40 to 42 degrees celcius.
I have been marvelling at how much we have been relying on flour, this means no bread and noodle to start with. So we make that all from rice powder or buy them from a special shop that sell gluten free noodles and bread.
And you'd be surprised how much Japan is late in this area.
It costs from 5 to 10 times the regular kinds. Now you get the idea.
And she takes her med. of course.
May be I can write something on how we cope with her diet needs one day.

For now, she has been doing a wonderful job of accepting it all.
(Okay, occasional cries for wanting what she can't have but she is only 5, what do we expect)

Here we go, they have been her treats.

I can't quite pin point what this is... it's something between a pound cake and bread made from sweet potato powder. My girl takes it with peanut butter and strawberry jam.

Doughnuts from rice powder

Mini cupcakes made from rice powder

the list of things leigh can't eat is long- and i can imagine it's a huge transition for your household. i hope she's ok though.

by the looks of the pics, you can dish up delicious stuff for her anyway. amazing what you can make with some creativity. you're a good mama! :)

Luuworld, yes the list is pretty harsh right now.
I don't think she will be taking any dairy and gluten food for some time but the rest will come back pretty soon (fingers crossed!)
Thanks for the kind words too!

You remind me of my brother all the time :)

mmm, without knowing all the details it's hard to know what to say (write) but like luuworld said, with those yummy treats you dish up I'm sure she will soon forget about all the things she used to eat.

can I ask, why does the food have to be warm?

wos> Sorry I can't get into details and names right now. Not ready to type it out on my own. And I know that you know, thank you for not asking me.

To answer your question, I can tell you some small part of what is wrong, and you will know why warm food is required. We found some unwanted bacteria in her blood too and was also told her intestine is not functioning the way it should. Warm/hot food and drink is suppose to help with her intestine and also her blood not taking in new bacteria in a way whilst her medication does all the fighting with the baddies.

Right now, I have to do and try everything that's suggested and hope for the best :)
