Yes, you have pretty much figured that out that I am one.
And as a woman who has lived a few decades I realise more and more how much the society needs to have gender equality.
We are taught to live right, be sensible, be smart and simply be someone nice since we were young.
While we were raised to play nice, it also meant we needed to be fair. If I had an apple, and if I was supposed to share with a friend. A half each. Now why is that nice? it's nice because we have the same amount of yummy apple = happiness. What does that mean? I may be exaggerating things just from sharing an apple but it really is very simple and it means we like to have same kind of happiness. Ring a bell? equality? it's that simple?
What brings us happiness? love? achievement? friends? money?(ok, not the best but who doesn't) and etc etc... You only get those goodies most of the time when you work for it. But what happens if you work for it and don't get it? and what happens if a boy does but the girl doesn't?
It's unfair.
And feminism is what makes us take side... to make things fair.
Now, having all these things in mind....
We see feminism as a strong headed girl who is tough and all that.
But it really isn't that. Feminism is just wanting to receive what we deserve just like the boys.
And I find it wrong that we need to work so hard for it and only get recognised sometimes.
We tell our daughters to make sure they be where they are served right, treated fairly and be a strong woman so that we don't lose to the boys.
But what we should really do is teach our spouses, boyfriends, brothers and sons what real gender equality is. Because they are in the game, not just us. We have to include them in this. The human race is not that complicated kind of species, we are only made up of women and men. By now you know what I am saying.
Include men in feminism.
It is the only way.
